Here is my Large Regular... started life as a Damascus Serrated... Got lots of hard use for many years , and CRK said they could not offer a replacement blade for the well worn, since it was NOT a warranty issue... BUT .. I happened to have an orphan Tanto BG42 that I bought thinking was a 21, but must have been a NCKA Tanto from somewhere... They fitted it , and turn around was lightning fast. Can't say how long, as they did me a real favor !IMG_6368.jpgIMG_6369.jpg

What a beautiful knife! Who did your scale embellishments? And I’d find a home for the old Damascus blade as well!

John Aldridge , who does Drum engraving for Ludwig Drums, ( and others) did it for me... I have 2-3 CRK's that I change blades on.... Dammy/ S30 Small 21, Drop Point/ Insingo, LG 21 etc....

How long did it take to get the serrations down that far?

That dam blade is an easy fix, I'd do a nightmare grind and eliminate the serrations.

I carried that knife exclusively for 10-12 years of EDC ( 2001) . The serrations are still 100% functional, but in need of refreshing... the CRK serrations are different than most, and are super functional.I am only rod/stropping it from now on...

Absolutely! Those original serrations are too precious to remove. Have you thought about spa services to restore it?

Makes me wonder. If you had an old 21 UG or something with a special front scale and ended up with lock issues or wore the blade out, if they'd use the scale and fit a 31 blade and lock side for you.

They seem to be have parts for warranty issues, it is normal wear issues that could be a problem. I was shocked that they could come up with a BG-42 blade for a member with warranty issues.
