Preventing and fixing recurve

Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can remove an unintentional recurve toward the heal of a blade. I'd like to do it with my 1x42 kalamazoo, as the best stone I have is a fairly worn dmt corse (small one with interruptions). Secondly any ideas on how to prevent it when sharpening with the sander? Knives are full height convex ground.

Slow the speed down and make sure you have solid even contact when it touches down. They come about from having the handle lower than the blade relative to the abrasive surface.

The recurve effect is very common off the belt grinders, my Bark River came with one and plenty of my sabre grinds have as well.

I remove them on a stone, partially by grinding into the plunge and partly by grinding back the belly. I also tend to do this over time so I'm not hogging off a lot of life to correct a cosmetic issue.
