Hi, I have an old Spanish Mauser bayonet, it is a little rough. I cleaned it up some but there is a little rust on the blade and metal pommel. I don't want to polish them so how can I keep the rust from spreading. This is not a valuable knife but I don't want to destroy it either. It is the first of my collection and I want to preserve it. Thanks

0000 steel wool and Corrosion X. Lightly work the blade with the steel wool soaked in the liquid. This stuff is great.
