I wanted to show some phots and a few quick impressions of the new Condor elegan, one of four neck knives now available (the other three being the Tangara, Windfang, and Bush Buddy).

The elegan is made of 1075 carbon steel and has a black anti-rust finish. It's 5-3/16" long and has a blade of 2-1/16". The blade is 1/8" thick. It comes with a black Kydex sheath and a black bead chain for neck carry. The cord wrap shown isn't included.

I should also point out that the edge comes convex ground, but I backed the edge up quite a bit. The photos show my rough work; the Elegan's edge comes polished from the factory.

The Kydex sheath is perfect; not too tight and not too loose. I just added some gutted 550 cord for belt attachment.

Out of the box, it was very sharp.

With a street price of $19, it makes a great addition to a small survival kit.

Full review coming soon.

I already have a bunch of small fixed blades, but liked the Elegan when I got to play around with one. I think that the broad, flat sheath makes it an excellent contender in the pocket fixed blade market. It should stay pretty much where you put it in your pocket.
