EDIT: When getting back to the bladesmith for permission to post his profile, he also informed me that I got the wrong metal for this one. It supposed to be some kind of engine poppet valve for shipping container, not ball bearing. My bad on that and to make the visualisation simple, please check out this link Xupap. This is one of his post where he is a regular Tran Ba, profile is closed, though.

Hi everyone, I am new to all this knife selling and wish to start by selling away my stash, so paid for gold membership to ask this question:

How much my knives worth, either both or individual?

They are made from ball bearing, never have been tested in lab for a properties table but definitely not 52100. Claiming it is 52100 would be a scam. Only god know how much similarity they share 😅

If the images are not good, I don't mind sending email or other method.

I have bought knife as a hobby and trying to start a business of selling knife beginning with what I have on hand 😄 hope that and can gradually make something with this.

Thank you for reading my post. Please give me any feedbacks that you may have. Everything will be greatly appreciated 🤗

Cheers,

Long

Please tell us more about yourself, how you forged these and any other technical information you wish to share. They certainly look unique; maybe "traditional" would describe them. As far as pricing, put them up for sale for as much as you think you can get and see how that goes.

They look like Yakut knives. We would need more pictures to make any value judgment. Close-up pictures are helpful. Did you make these? If not, who is the maker?

I got this from Vietnam, not a bladesmith myself, I live in GTA, Ontario.

As far as I know, these has been forged by hammer machine, from big ball bearing, oil quenching.

For pricing , I am looking at 30CAD each plus delivery. Hope that is not too much 😅

Thank you for helping me out 😍

One is yakut and one is a long pukko, and I will get more pictures soon. There were made by a bladesmith in Vietnam, I can post a link to his Facebook, just need his approval for that.

Thank you for helping me out 😍

The question of “how much they’re worth” is totally subjective, but with an unknown maker and unknown steel made in SE Asia, I wouldn’t expect more than $20 USD….though others might disagree. Edit…this is based on my personal travels to Vietnam and having the opportunity to look at the various cutlery.

I would agree 😅 though, maybe a bit more like $25USD ha ha ha 😂 sure, the steel is unknown, it seems to be similar to 52100 but that is as much as I know.

Thank you for helping me out 😍

Just a thought, if they cut well and you like them, why move them for so little money? just use the piss out of them!
I just have too many and also trying out as a knife dealer myself 😅 maybe I should try something else rather than these simple ones.

Thank you for helping me out 😍
