Well hello,

I need my fellow members to help me with a price for an early production Sebenza 25, pressed stop pin, lanyard, box, NO birth card.

The knife is in like new condtion. No visible marks on the Ti slabs, and has the leather slip case as well.

I of course always pay too much for everything.. But I purchased one complete with birth card February 12, 2013. (no $25.00 pouch) for $400.00 a few months ago. FYI it came with a USB of the "SHOP TOUR" and the Handles have the code date A 12..

At this time, an early/first run of 25's should be about the same price as the new ones. Years down the road is when a mint first run 25 may be worth a little more.

Something about this doesn't look right to me...The anodizing on the thumb stud appears to be very uneven and sort of rainbow colored as it gets wider. On every Sebenza I own the blue anodizing on the stud is flawless. Also I've heard of 25 copies popping up on an evil chinese site that come with boxes that look EXACTLY like that one, which I speculate is part of why CRK recently changed their boxes. The cheap copies also have unevenly anodized studs so I really don't know :confused:

I was thinking the same thing. It looks more hollow ground than the 25 should be, and the lanyard material looks weird too. Maybe it's just bad lighting. Could you post some better pics of this knife Kwazy? Are you sure it's legit?

I was thinking that it looked funny from the pics as well. I am just posting what the person sent to me.

I was going to go meet the guy in person today to look at the knife up close.

But I decided against it. And told him that i wasn't interested anymore.

I asked him where he got the knife from and he said a pawn shop 8 months ago. And that he doesn't have the birth card.

The blade, lanyard, and thumb studs look weird to me too!! It looks like a paracord lanyard that was added after the fact.

Just something seems weird...

I will ask for more pics

No birth card on a knife that recent is a huge red flag IMHO. There's no reason a knife that is supposed to be in that condition and supposed to be made that recently should not have its birth card. :thumbdn:

The birth card is easier to fake than a knife. Who cares about that?

Comparing it to mine (bought directly from CRK in February) it looks legit. The lanyard is not right, but that could have been replaced. Mine did not come with a calfskin sheath.

Anodization is funny stuff, and those are some crappy photos. The light just may be playing games on the thumbstuds.

It could be the light, but the knock-offs I've seen advertised have the exact same uneven anodization as the thumbstud widens that is shown in the pics. Looks almost purplish right near the blade. I've never seen the blue anodization on a sebbie show up like this before in any picture. Also, it appears as though the knock-offs are coming with calfksin pouches now. Plus as kidcongo mentioned, the blade looks much more hollow-ground than the 25 which should be almost flat.

Close-up pictures would settle it but I'd bet my money on it being a fake. Such a shame too.

What's weird about the ano is that, in my admittedly little experience, it would almost be harder to get a multi color finish than the proper blue. Anodizing ti ain't rocket science.

The ano looks off in every pic though. Very odd.

I tried to get more pics from the guy no response....

He's either annoyed with me or it is a fake.... Oh well!
