A friend of a friend asked for my help in establishing a price so that he can sell a rare Busse. I am not making any money on this.

He is an internet "Piltdown Man" (much worse than neanderthal), but wants to know the worth and somehow sell it.

There were 6 made; 5 survive now; ground by Boss Hog himself; D2 (i believe); etched with Jerry's name and then ground so that the name barely shows.

He has a couple more Busse knives, but this is the most valuable. Any serious help appreciated.

Pictures were promised me but haven't arrived yet. I am assured it is in mint condition.

Thank you!!

:eek:Well... being the nice guy that I am... I will go ahead and offer $100 bucks.... no... make that $110... it wouldn't be fair for him to have to pay for shipping. :D

I just wanna see a pic of the knife in question. I'll assume it's got a 4-figure price-tag in any event.

I would put the value at $2,000.00 plus.

Very Rare, very collectable, and I turned down $2,000.00 about a year ago.

I used to keep track of all of these cept the one I sold as a beater at Blade Show West 2000.

I am to lazy, and a few people have sold them without telling me since then, so I do not know where they are anymore.

Well... in that case... $115! But that is my final offer :D;) hahahaha

A ghost? Seriously? I've only seen the one on Bad Mojo, I think it was Bad Mojo. Hell....don't remember now. Maybe I only dreamed I saw one!

Pictures please....or Tim can post them when he receives the knife. :p

The "Ghost" Steel Hearts(Straight Handle) were made for the Blade West Show in the year 2000.

They were a surprise, in that Jerry just made them and sent them as part of a regular order of Steel Hearts that I had ordered at the time.

No notes, no suggested price, no notice, just sime very "Cool" Shiny Busse knives.(the first shiny Busse knives that I had seen up to that point)

As I recollect(my notes and receipts are still in storage) the Ghosts sold at Blade West for $450.00, then went to $600.00 right after that.

When I asked Jerry just how many Ghosts were ever produced up to that time, he said some thing less then 50 all models combined.

I have not yet, to date ever seen a "Ghost" of any other model made before the late summer 2000.

But they may be out there.

All that I have seen are the few produced for the Blade West 2000, plus 2 that went back East, but I read about a few in another model made a few years later.

I think Skunk has those, same as he has the only #911 knives that Busse has made other than the Original #911 Mr. Mojo, made in 2001.

After I eventually get moved, I will look for my notes and reciepts for more details.

Here is a poor picture of the "Ghost" SH I have, it is the second from the left. :D

An SHSH made out of D2? Now that is incredible and I would agree that $2k or more is the value. To an SHSH collector that would be a holy grail knife.

Say if you have an SHBM like that please email me:D

Sorry to disapoint, I believe that they are Shiny INFI with a faint logo is all.

But at the time both the "Shiny" and any Logo was a Big deal.

The Change over from slotted handle fasteners had just about been completed and the Ergos were not yet in production.

The Ghost was very unusual for Busse at the time.
