Hello ladies and gents. How much should I expect to pay for a NIB Benchmade 705? It's a plain, satin, 15cm blade. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You don't see that knife on the market very often. Especially one that is NIB with the plain satin. I would expect to pay over $100, probably in the $120ish area.

No you don't see 'em often. I think $120. is low... very low.

Then I guess the last two purchases I've made in the past month have been complete steals. ;)

This isn't exactly a sellers market and when you start getting over $120-$140 people will be more prone to pick up a 707. You have to really want a 705 to go looking for one considering BM has several offering now in the same size.

That's about what I expected. Do you guys think it's worth it. I've never handled a 705, but have handled a 710 and currently have one en route. Just judging from specs and photos of the 705, it looks to be about the same size and dimensions as a mini-grip or 707.

tjsulli790; how about sharing the wealth? I'll give you, $130:D

Never liked the 705, or for that matter the 707, that much. So little for the money and it isn't like the materials are exotic or anything.

I do have a couple of the Blackwater versions of the 707, the 16707, though. I like the blade shape better, despite the price.

I have yet to pay more than $80 for one of the plain edged 16707 knives. I give them as gifts due to that small size.

I think the 705 is worth it. I would probably prefer the blade on the 707 just because it's a little broader but there's just no way I could do the aluminum it comes with. Plus if you have a 710 then you got papa and son. :D

The problem is the 705 is discontinued and maybe a little harder to use if you pick up a NIB one. If it was me I would be really torn between it the the 14210. If the 14210 didn't have that slight recurve I'd probably be more prone to pick it. In my opinion the 705 was BMs best executed small folder.
