This knife was sent to CRK for the spa treatment by the original owner and he hasn't used it since. 1996 as the card reads....Just curious what it might be worth?

We can't answer your question as you are a registered user. You need to be a gold member at least to talk value. :)

Hey scotty, you need to post on the tech support forum to have your name changed to gold. Sometimes, especially on a Friday afternoon, it takes a couple days.

Thanks for becoming a paid member; it helps this community.

I'm a gold member now, just paid. Hope you can help me out

Click on the link below (in my signature block) to update your user group. Once you do that you'll be golden.

BTW, for those with info, I've confirmed via scottybuck's profile that he now has the requisite membership so feel free to answer his "valuation" questions.

Thanks for supporting the forums and abiding by the rules. It only works because of you.

It depends on if your buying or selling... If your selling its worth a lot more than if your buying.. Unless your selling to me... then its worth more than you want!! :)

I imagine that you'd get a broad range of opinions on this topic, and I'm confident that I would NOT answer precisely the same way on two different occasions. Anyway, here's my take this morning. I'd start with what I'd pay for a NIB current run piece from the secondary market. From there:
  • x 1.1 for no engraving (no "Idaho Made", "Classic MM")
  • x 1.05 for old clip
  • x 1.1 for no clip
  • x 1.2 for the mirror polish blade that Chris put on the early Sebs
  • x 1.2 for the way cool hand finished non-symmetric thumb stud
  • x 1.2 for "P" designation
  • x 1.1 for numbered
  • x 0.95 for not LNIB (but not readily noticeable after spa treatment)
  • x 0.<depends> for noticeable wear, like worn anodizing, missing blade length and belly from use, or any other cosmetic differences from NIB not hidden by spa treatment.

So, for a NIB clipless numbered P, my multiplier would be 1.1 x 1.1 x 1.2 x 1.2 x 1.2 x 1.1 = 2.3 x NIB current run . . . yup, I've paid that much.

As for yours, I can't tell much detail from the photos, except that the thumb stud is symmetric with worn anodizing. As such, my multiplier would be something like 1.1 x 1.05 x 0.95 x 0.95 = 1.04.

Hope that helps.

I know what I sold mine for. Was a nice amount, but probably not what some bought them for, or even sold them for. I always referred to it as my "P-Less" Sebenza....lol.
