okay I picked these up at a garage sale a few years back, and mostly forgot about them. I want to know if they are worth anything at all. They arent in the best shape so I dont think they will be, but if they are, cool.

not sure about the others since Im more into modern knives, but that last one may be an older case and it would probably be worth some coin.

If you were to put the whole collection on ebay as one auction, I'd be surprised if it went for over $10. Not much collector interest in those.

great little collection, i have a number of small folders, a couple of them older, passed down to me. probably not worth much in dollars. but treasures none the less, and they all have a story to tell

What would make you say that?

Looks more like a Imperial, or Colonial why would you say Case?

the sheild logo? I dont know a lot about slipjoints but Ive seen quite a few case knives with that sheild on them.

my bad.

which is why I said it may be a case D:

So what brand names are stamped on the blades? Your photos aren't clear enough to show the makers mark.

There just might be some hidden rarity in there, but my suspicion is they are all very low-end knives. Unmarked, "China", Imperial, or similar. If that's the case, I would price the entire bunch in the $0-$2 range due to condition.

An FYI, here's how to post photos in the forum. It'll make it easier on people wanting to see your photos. Take the first photo for instance. It's internet location is, "http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp74/mrneumann5000/IMG_3361.jpg". So place "
at the end. It comes out like this:

one says "barlow", the big 1 with black scales top right, a couple say Imperial (i figured out that 1 was crap), 1 says jibberish, at first I thought it was blade specs or sometin, but its some code or someting, and a few are unmarked

one says "barlow"
FYI, "Barlow" is a style of knife, like "Hunting Knife" or "stockman". ;)
Barlow-style knives have been made by dozens of different companies. Doesn't take much searching on eBay to many examples, Imperial probably being the most common. Notice that some actually have the word "Barlow" stamped on the bolster, like your knife, and others do not.

In that case, I think my original assessment of value was accurate.

Regarding your Imperial knife, did you know that the Imperial-Schrade Corporation went bankrupt and was dissolved in 2004? As a result, your Imperial knife would be worth a few bucks, like $5-$10, if it were in mint condition.

For the "jibberish" knife, someone might be able to decipher it if you post a close-up enlarged scan of the tang stamp. Even if completely worthless, you might like to know what you have.

here's a book that can help...
I don't have much faith in those printed value guide books. They can't possibly be re-edited and published fast enough to keep up with the fluid market values. Specifically, that book you linked was copyrighted in 2004. Since then Imperial Schrade has gone bankrupt and many of their knives have skyrocketed in value, Camillus has also closed with many of their brands and models becoming quite collectible, and hundreds (thousands?) of knife models have been introduced and/or taken out of production.

Checking recent eBay auctions is a better indicator of the price/value. Use the Completed Items search feature and look for knives of the same brand, model, and condition for an accurate comparison.

Those are patent numbers. Imperial in the 1950s.

That other blade is an awl, made for boring holes in leather or soft wood.

wow you guys are good.
thanks for all the info. I really like the one with the bar code thing. it fits well in the hand (though I havnt ever held any knives over $100 or so)
