Hey Crew, I've got a SAR4 I'm either going to sell or do blasphemous things to

Pumpkin, mint, not even scuff marks.

Thoughts on current market value? Screenshot_20220814-063237.png

I've seen mint SAR 4's sell on the forums in the $400-$450 range. There's nothing more blasphemous you can do to it worse than the original sin inflicted upon it by handling it with those wretched pumpkin scales...desecrate away Sir! 😈
I so *****ing agree with that!

I listed a bunch of mint SAR-3s at $350 each, and they all sold within minutes, so that was obviously a super-bargain price. For whatever thats worth.
I know! I wanted all of them!!! And missed...

Don’t forget to let me know if you ever decide to part with that other one 😳

That's a nice knife! I was going to guess $500 give or take a little.
But I have not seen one for sale in a long time. A lot of people do like the pumpkins👍

I’d agree with azwelke azwelke with the $500.00 give or take $$$ Really nice knife and they don’t come around much anymore. I sold mine off years ago :-(
Nothing wrong with using it either 👍👍

Actually this is something that I disagree with for the most part, I believe that the pumpkin handles are almost guaranteed to be more difficult to sell than almost any other handle color. There are few that are quite dedicated but it seems many are horrified at the thought of an orange knife... you really either love it or hate it and I'd wager orange is the last thing many want on a combat knife. As a field knife it makes perfect sense if you fear dropping the knife and having to hunt for it.

I don't want to hijack the thead but with all the talk of SAR 3 and SAR 4, I wanted to ask. What do you think of the SAR 5 ? I know it was a late night Blue Lable induced mistake. I just picked a unused unmodified SAR5 and I like it.

Great if you like the feel of a claw hammer. I've read that Jerry said it turned out 'all wrong' so he decided to blow them out at stupid cheap pricing just to get rid of them ASAP. Then of course they've been sold for probably 2-3 times that over the years just due to supply being small. That said, I like the blade itself if you can do something to make that handle into something svelte and there was an old member here who sent one to the Custom Shop to have that done and it turned out nice. I had one years ago and wasn't even remotely interested in keeping it even though I liked the blade, it's just a TON of metal and scale weight that doesn't do anything for me except make it feel like it had a big ole' A%$ on it just because...

Of course, I didn't buy mine direct from Jerry so I can complain about it all I want.... :p If I recall there was a 'no whine policy' when these were sold direct, lol. 🤬🤬 I'm sure Jerry's completely drunk the memory of that experience away so it's got to be good for a laugh by now, right???

I have read Jerry's original post regarding the drunken mistake and his opinion of it. Maybe I'm the only one but the handle feels good, I'm not changing anything. It could be that I have big hands (XXL mechanix gloves) or years of USPSA & IDPA competitive shooting with 1911 / 2011, the heavy blocky feel works for me.

Sorry to resurrect the old thread here, but does anyone still have a pattern to run kydex for these? I bought one in new condition, but need some pants for it.
