So I put this together for a co-worker. He is in his late 20's and knows nothing about axe and just wants a camp axe.
It's a Keen Kutter head but the small logo at the poll is half gone. If a person knows what they are looking for you can see it. Hung on an 18" handle. I did not weigh the head itself but altogether it weighs 3 1/2 Lbs.
I paid $3.00 for the head and $7.00 for the handle. So how much should I ask for it? I'm not trying to make a business of this. Just hope to support my (axe)habit.

I know you're not supposed to support an addict but....:D I would say $15-$25 bucks depending on how good/rich of a friend/coworker he is.

My first thought was $20.00. He is new to the company so I can't say I really know him. Seems like a nice guy. And I'm pretty sure he is not rich. Lol. I'm happy saving this old steel an passing it along.

People tend to underappreciate great things that come to them cheap. Boy size Keen Kutter with personal touch; unless paint covers some flaws I would definitely take it over brand new Council Tools Boy's Axe

I agree people don't always appreciate the time effort and materials used in somthing like this. So I need to be asking a reasonable amount to reflect the overall value of this tool.
The paint is not hiding anything. The only major flaw is the obscured logo. If the logo was all there and clear. I'd keep the axe.

It's a keen kutter, for someone that doesn't know anything about axes and will abuse it I'd hook him up with a half hatchet or riggers axe instead.
He would no doubt think to hammer steel tent stakes...ect with this so something with an actual hammer ( which are generally everywhere ) would be a better choice.

I think your right.
When I first started this project I did not know it was a Keen Kutter.
Maybe I will wait until I come across something less desirable.
