I'm in the market for a new Emerson, and its come down to a CQC7B-waved and an SOCFK-B.

I'm leaning towards the SOCFK, but I'm wondering why the CQC7 appears to be $40 more expensive. Are there any reasons beyond "demand" that causes this? Is the blade smaller, handle weaker, etc?

emerson sells/markets the SOCFKs mostly to people in the service, and wants to keep the price low, thus the diff.

imho the SOCFK is a much better knife at a lower price than the CQC7, only down side is availablity.........

SIFU1A, are you going to buy the Super SOCFK? I was going to get the SOCFK but I am going to wait for the Super SOCFK.

The proto Super CQC7 were selling for close to $300 on ebay.

yes, i might get one, recently got a spec war CQC8 and have been carrying that one a lot, though

thanks for the help. I just placed my order for the SOCFK-b. It was a tough decision, but ultimately decided to go with the handle which looks very similar to my minicommander.

I ended up giving my father the minicommander this weekend, which I carried daily for 2 years.

thanks! its been a long time since i frequented this forum (I stopped reading about and buying things that go *cut* and started reading about and buying thing that go *bang*.).
