Price for a US made 194OT?

Hi all,

I usually frequent the Traditional sub-forum and have to admit I had a heck of a time even finding this one... (And I wonder why I can't find the knives I'm looking for!)

Anyway, my eye was recently caught by a 194OT locking trapper pattern, and I'm currently searching for a US made one. I'm just wondering if you good folks might know how much I might expect to pay for such a thing.

Also, can someone tell me what the second number is? I keep seeing this knife referred to as a 194 OT (or 1940T) but "1420" also keeps popping up in the same search. Is this similar to Case's numbering, with both a pattern number and model number, or whatever it's called?

Thanks!

This one has been up and down the last few months. If you are looking for a good user, maybe low 20's or less, but a new one with original packaging could be $35 to $45. There for a while, they were going for over $50.00, but lately they have been back down.

Here is a link to a thread where this pattern was discussed recently.

Sam,
I can't tell you about the Case knives. I know the USA Schrade 194OT is one that seems to fluctuate quite a bit on the bay. I personally love the pattern and tend to watch them. I've seen them go for over $40 new with the box and papers, but have also gotten them in as new condition without box and paperwork for as little as $15. Keep an eye out on the pictures because not all are advertised with the model number in the title or description.

For those whom dont have one or havent seen one..

Sam 194 is the pattern # and OT is in reference to Old Timer the UH is the Uncle Henry line there is a model comperable to the 194OT in the UH line UH197 Cat Paw, but hold onto your britches when yoiu see what they bring  Still looking for one for myself Knife and bling (box & papers) they bring easly 60+ spot :grumpy: and used no bling 40+ spot . The big differince in the two OT trapper style handle (frame), UH serpentine style frame similar to the 897UH medium (premium) stockman. probably got you all confused now!?:D

Nope, I gotcha covered... :D I do know enough generics to know a serpentine Stockman from a Trapper. I've been collecting Case, Queen, S&M, CSC, and a few other for a few years now, just never dabbled in Schrade. Well, I have a Sharpfinger, but that was a gift.

Recently my eye fell on my Case Slimline Trapper, my interest in that patterns was reawakened, and I've been looking for similar patterns by other makers. A new 194OT caught my eye in a local sporting goods store, but I (also :)) knew enough that this meant it was a Taylor import.

I figured if I'm going to do it I'll do it right, so here I am asking questions and reading, as usual. Thanks for the responses!

That much, huh? Wow. Prices do climb when things are no longer made, don't they?
