What would you consider the price ceiling for a handmade fix blade knife?

Holy cow what a question! Depends on so many things, such as the maker, size, steel, handle material, types of pins, etc….

For a daily user knife? A hunting knife? Fishing knife? Camping? Kitchen? Chopper? Collector piece? Etc.

Your OP asks for a ceiling... I don't know what my ceiling would be. So far nothing over $3k.

Forged, Stock removal? (you said handmade so cnc is Out)
Stainless or doesn't matter?
fancy steel or basic?
Fancy handle materials or basic?
True custom to YOUR needs or standard pattern of the desired maker?
Highly in demand, well known maker? or budget builder/maker?
North American/USA of other countries?


Lot's and Lot's of variables.


I think $200 is a cheap starting point. and it just goes up from there. $300 Plus is more honest with a tiny bit of wiggle room and higher end materials.

You would need Gold membership to ask specifics about knife pricing pertaining to a specific knife. This is purposefully vague.

I asked a sort of similar question here a while back not realizing there's some deep pockets here. I personally squirmed buying a Sebenza and people here casually post pics of small collections that have to be worth thousands in one picture. Point being you are not likely going to get answers you really like.
