I'm a little puzzled lately. Going back a year or two second hand LE prices have seem to gone up keeping close to the price rise of new LE wood inlays.

It seems lately used but pristine LE sebenza prices have gone down a bit. In fact I recently saw a much discounted price on a snakewood LE.

Any guesses as to why or just a periodic swing?

I would say it's one of those market things. The LE's are strictly limited in number so one would think that their prices would go up and I feel in the long run (>5years) that will be the case. It depends on how bad the seller wants money. I sold an LE at discount simply because I needed the money and I didn't want to haggle over price and I didn't want to wait forever. It's a supply and demand thing. We know the supply but demand will determine the price. It's a lot like buying in the stock market, knives are an investment and as such future value is a big question mark.:)

I buy Sebenzas because I like them. If they happen to worth a lot more in the future, so much the better.;)

If CRK ever discontinues the LE woods, we will see the prices soar. Just look at the Umfaan.

I wouldn't mind a premium Camel Thorn inlayed large classic or standard Sebanza.

It's tempting to get a large inlayed classic and send it back to CR to have the premium Camel Thorn installed.

Bought my first 2006 Maka wood for about $4

second 2006 Box elder for a bit more

I have seen some on ebay for less and some on forums for less too.

New from CRK mammoth ivory bark with stainless damascus 2007 was almost double these prices.

Still think we are going to see a stable price range or a bit of a dip because collectors need some extra $$?

hmm. looking for a nice LE and tho prices seem a small amount less it doesn't seem to be effecting the more desirable ones...

I saw an LE snakewood that would have gone for $395, but traded. Yet a bloodwood classic go for the same amount.
