Price increase?

Have the prices of Emersons increased? BladeHQ shows satin Commanders above $200, and I got my SF Commander below $200 earlier this year. Prices across the board seem to be up a bit.

Honestly, if I didn't have the Emersons I have now, I would probably pay current prices to get them again, and this may be a common sentiment that Emerson is aware of. Also I usually see standard size, plain edge satin and black blades sold out frequently on BHQ (black and satin plain edge CQC7s and Commanders usually).

Thoughts? Could the price increase be related to inflation, or an upcoming patent expiration? Despite the increase, these knives are still less expensive than Striders or Sebenzas. I'll remain a fan of Emerson.

I find the price fluctuations on certain knives to be odd. GP Knives has the Mini commander for $156 and Blade HQ has it for $180.

In my experience gpknives always have the lowest prices. Probably because they don't put so much time and energy into making videos review etc... If you look hard enough Emersons are always available at steals. Only time I would pay full retail is for a limited edition model, but they definitely are worth it, I just have a lot of hobbies ;)

Don't be afraid to pick up a used Emerson. They pop up on the Exchange quite often for a good chunk of change less than new ones.

I've found Emerson's on sale a few different places over the past few weeks. That being said, I've also found over that time a few of the places have jumped their prices... some significantly. Do your due diligence in searching for the best price. Deals on new knives are out there.

I noticed about 3 years ago the price of the A-100 jumped from $130 to $180 across the board. I have never understood the meaning of "Prestige Dealer". It might be a term to describe retailers that stick to the 10%-%15 off retail pricing structure. Most dealers will sell at the same prices across the board, unless they are offering some close out type deals.
