There is a sebbie for sale on the exchange right now, the reads: "regular large sabenza $800 all inclusive". It's a 2006, S30V plane jane...is this just wishful thinking on the seller's part or was this a limited run? I ask this because another person posted that it was "a great deal on a great blade..."

So wishful thinking or fairly rare?

Regulars are worth more than 21's if that's what you are asking. How much more is up to the market, and what the next man is willing to pay.

They are no longer made what so ever. The number of mint, or even rarer the number of NIB's are in short supply. Heck a regular is rare to see on sale as is.
I've seen some light users sell for close to $500.

Mint Sebenzas, especially in the Large Regular are getting pretty scarce these days. The price is not out of line. Recently, I paid $800 for a minty Large Regular Native American CGG. Whose to say a Large Regular Plain Jane is worth any less in minty condition......??? On ebay, they have been going for over 1K. So $800 is not that bad. Just imagine if it was BG-42......!!!

Wow, I guess you never know what a safe queen may eventually be worth. I guess I just didn't think a 2006 regular could bring that much--well time flies and a lot can happen in 9 years-- CRK's definitely hold their value and then some!

Wow, I thought that price was out of line as well, guess I was wrong!

I saw a regular listed for $800 and I thought I must have read it wrong or it was a typo ... apparently not. Nice to know they go up not down!

No, you were not wrong. That is a high price for a Regular in S30V but if people keep paying the silly prices people will keep asking for the same and more. I would say ~$600 is closer to what that knife is worth.

I thought it was high too, but my knowledge is very limited. I just looked at the listing again, a few minutes ago, and it appears it is sold.

Well, we can probably expect to see more Regulars with asking prices of ~$800....I'm glad I have 3 already. :p

No, you were right. It is over priced IMO.
It could(but doubt it) bring that on ebay, but I don't think it will sell for that here.
Someone could offer him less in an email, so I doubt we'll know what it sells for.
If I were needing more Regulars I may pay $600 for that one, though I prefer the one's made in 2004 or before.
I recently picked up a mint as NIB 2004 for $630, and a sharpened one with no card from 1997 for $470.

If the price is too high no one will buy it and he will lower it
If not it will sell
It is very hard to guess what someone might pay for such an item and you only need to find one guy to pay it. Some of us are shoppers, but to someone else their time may be worth more than any premium. They want it so they buy it.
Also if you want something and are going to keep it forever how much does a little premium matter. I certainly have convinced myself of this before.

I agree with Haze 1000% about $600. I think the seller may be in lala land with his $800 dreamin' price. We'll see. Sometimes it seems as if some guys(buyers)

have more $ than common sense.

Tom I think your NA is worth you paid for it. Dave offered it to me before he put it up on the forums. Dave's price was a little much too for a really

nice CRK that I just couldn't carry. Too much for a knife for me to fondle and look at.:D

Once again we have the age old question , for the seller, what will it bring. I think it's a case of not wanting to let it go to cheap, and be ridiculed. I think $500 is closer on any plain S30 bladed knife, but have no problem with anyone asking for their price, or offering mine. Last I looked it was still for sale ,,,,

I gues I got more of a deal than I thought on my small regular Mammoth for s30v for under 600 bucks then.

Nice. If I had three of them, the value would probably drop to about $150 :D That seems to be the way I roll. Buy high, sell low...

Similar problem here. If I put a knife away thinking it may go up in value, the market prices drop. If I use the hell out of a nknife, the price of pristine examples of that knife go through the roof.

I think that Haze is right on the money, $600 for an S30V has been what seemed like the going rate to me for a long time.
That said, I sold a BG-42 in mint condition for well over $700 and I'm not complaining, I'll save the complaining for when I decide to buy it's replacement and they've gone up even more :(

Prices really seem to be appreciating. I bought a LNIB 1997 large BG-42 Regular for $400 less than two years ago. :( I should have bought more...

What is a sabenza?

I don't know what is up with that lately ???
I've seen several sales threads that have had it spelled that way this year.
The guy that acted like he was giving one away spelled it that way(in General forum), and I've seen several do it since then. Odd.
