With blade this weekend, the custom shop isn't answering questions quickly... perhaps one of you will know?

What is the price on the following... any input (even a decent estimate) would be helpful

Ak47 coated with G10
Ak47 Satin with G10

Killa Zilla coated with G10
Killa Zilla Satin with G10

NMFBM coated with G10
NMFBM Satin with G10

Thanks guys

pretty sure that doesn't apply to custom shop blades... it actually says that in the sticky if i'm not mistaken.

Custom shop blades start with the LE's price as a base, so it's somewhat of a start if you don't get any better answers. The satin finish and G10 of course depend on the surface areas. With blades that large, I would guesstimate $150-200 for both the finish and the G10, but don't take my word for it. Just trying to keep you occupied until Blade is over :p

If you go with a coated blade and don't mind not having the Custom Shop logo, it could be more economical to get a Combat Grade version. Here's what Lexi told me:

The pricing for standard retired Combat Grade models are available for the same base price in which the model was released for. This may depend on how long ago the model you are interested in was retired, typically though there is no Custom Shop up charge for standard models.

Keep in mind that even the smallest variance from a Combat Grade setup will put it into Custom Shop category (and price). However, it's ambiguous to me what the difference between a "custom NMFBM with red liners" is vs. a "CG NMFBM that you sent in later to have red liners added for $10."

You asked for estimates. After looking at it again, there is quite a bit of clarification on price adjustments for various blade finishes, handle materials, etc. As long as you don't specify a custom blade variation or grind, the prices are probably accurate.

very nice! i think i'm going to go with a Black blade and Blue G10 model AK47... if i can manage to get it at the original listed pricing, i'll have enough left over to get a BM with it

that will give me a heck of a nice start to my busse collection

Gladius
TGLB
AK47
BM

all black with blue/black G10... :)

I think you would get a much better price on any of the ones you listed by watching the For Sale forum here, although if you must have a particular blade/handle color combo, then the Custom Shop might be your only option. I see new AK47's listed here for a lot less than $1267. Beware of fake AK47's: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/951550-ALERT!!!!-Counterfeit-Busse-Combat-American-Kensei-47-Swords

I just re-read the other post, and I was thinking above about coated AK's, not ones with a satin finish.

I already ordered an AK47 from the custom shop... the CG model that i ordered is a LOT lower than $1200... about half that with G10 scales.

I also ordered a Gladius, a Muk, and a TGLB. All with matching scales and coating

custom shop pricing isn't really all that bad

I don't know what it costs if you want one special ordered from the custom shop, but I got a satin AK and Ruck a couple years back at a ganza. I don't remember what each one cost, but it was a great deal. Here's the email I got from Amy-0:

I'd say that this is because luckily for you, they must have those model knife blanks already on hand. If they didn't and you insisted...I'd guess that it would be considerably more! :D

'Gratz on your scores to come!

Actually, they did. They had the gladius and AK blanks on hand

I'm very glad they did because it look like less than 8 weeks wait time, versus the MUCH longer wait if they had not had them on hand

that's why i opted to go with the AK47 rather than the KZII
