I have found about a 9% increase on two items i bought in December and now in January, anyone else noticing price increase's?

Not suprising. Many states have the minimum wages that went up on the first. In my state I can plan on an increase next year, already .

Gas went up at my local gas station this weekend..

It a bummer but its life, prices increase.
Supplies cost more, etc, etc.

Suppliers charge more to vendors.

Im raising my prices for my landscaping business this year, gas costs more and everything else does too.
I hope my customers accept my price increase better then a lot of people on these forums accept the increase on knives.

Sorry to be a stick in the mud, there have just been a LOT of these threads lately.

There almost always is a price increase year to year. Live with it. I also will be increasing prices on things somewhat in 2019. Thinking about a 10% increase to cover my labor and insurance costs mostly. I didn't increase prices last year at all.

This. Lately many here have turned into the crotchety old guy who complains because you can’t get ice cream and see a movie for $0.30 anymore.
Prices go up. Supplies cost more, and there inflation. It’s one of the reason why salaries tend not to be steady either.

I’ll add that we’re a bunch of spoiled brats. I think this is an unprecedented golden age for knife buyers. We’ve got examples of knives in super steels like S30v in the $60-70 range, the SK exclusive Buck 110’s in CPM154 for only $40, and titanium framelocks in excellent super steels in the $100-200 range. The materials we are getting for our money these days would be shocking to someone 10yrs ago. Never mind the number of custom makers who are putting out excellent knives at much more affordable prices than I’d be willing to work for! Why don’t we just be thankful for the awesome values we’re seeing.

The new year is when most manufacturers take the opportunity to adjust their prices as needed. This trickles out to retailers as they re-stock.

Just glad i ordered the knife and sharping stone in December, both prices jumped 9% and they stopped the free shipping and also no sweet $10 dollar gift cards are offered.
Now i did find some sites have not raised their prices, so look around before placing your orders.

I understand the reason of price increase and am not complaining. But I just wonder why ZTs' prices are not increasing?

With $240 on their newer stuff, they're pushing it IMO. If they bump it up much more they're pricing themselves out of the market.

$240 for what they sell is a great price . Go buy a Reate and see if you can get something for $240 . You are looking at S30V g10 for $191 yea that’s the price of the DLC military or $200 for a Benchmade 940 .

$240 is still a real hard pill to swallow for most. If the military is really up to $200 now, that's ridiculous.

Fortunately knives are a luxury. So if that means buying less of them, so be it. My knife collection is in the mature stage so I'm not doing a ton of buying these days.
I don't know why people get so worked up over a knife company raising prices. If you don't like it move on.

The S110V Military is $198.00 which I think is a great price for a super steel knife made in the USA.

The S30v Military is $178.00 and I still think it’s a fair price. Other brands have taken over the lower price ranges and if you want a quality American made knife then it’s gonna cost more these days.

We’ve been lucky however. The Europeans have been paying through the nose for a while.

I agree 100% .

The manufacturers today face many challenges in keeping their doors open and government is one of the biggest challenges. If you have never run your own business then I would suggest you have NO idea on setting a price of a market item. The competition in the market place is tough. Look at the knives being provided by China. There labor costs are less than the United States due to the government. If you do not work at THEIR communist wages they could care less. I prefer the United States and the opportunities offered by many U.S. manufacturers.
Business owners have to be smart and have the ability to critical think and react in a moments notice. As stated earlier the quality of knifes being provided by manufacturers has never been better. This applies to knifes in the lower cost range and the upper price range. Only you can decide what your price range will be.
Complaining about knife prices is a real waste of time. If you do not like a product then do not purchase. Second guessing why one manufacturers prices go up and others do not is again a waste of time. Manufactures such as Case, Spyderco, Benchmade, Buck, ZT just to name a few turn out quality products at a great price point and are all subject to different market forces. Quality talent and materials is not cheap.
I buy as many knifes as possible that are produced in the Unite States. Some U.S.manufactures are forced to build their knives over seas for many different reasons. Buying U.S. products is my decision and I am not suggesting knives manufactured in other countries are not good quality.
I am old school and a veteran so I am going to have different priorities than many people on this forum.
Bottom line, stop whining and enjoy the knife hobby for what it is. The ability to buy great products that make work easier and make the collecting hobby possible and a LOT of fun.

Eh ... Not surprising.
Prices are going up at the grocery store, Archery Pro Shop, and everywhere else, too. :(
