Pricing question

I'm getting sick and tired of my mom's Henckels chef's knife refusing to take an edge. I'm thinking of replacing it for her birthday (2/3 of a year away :D), and would love to give her a custom from a fellow forumite. I'm wondering what price estimates would be for an 8" chef's knife, preferably with a stainless steel (D2 would probably be good enough) blade, and G10/Micarta/etc handle.

Thanks for all your help, and Merry Christmas!

Sorry I don't do the stainless thing, But after seeing those wonderful santukos that Dan K. posted I have a hankering to make one out of damascus.
Thanks,
Del

Gee Del, I can't imagine YOU making something out of damascus! :p I'm personally thinking of mixing Butch's "crazy san mai" thread with some kitchen knife ideas from Butch and Dan to see what I come up with.

Delbert - I'll be needing some 1/4" x 3" x 14" O1/L6 random in the near future - if you're still in production - shoot me an email. Thanks!
