Well...its time for a price increase. After the orders I have now I will be raising my prices a little. I am getting better and need to start making some profit on these things. Most larger knives will be $150.00 and smaller EDC knives will be $105.00 shipped. I still feel like these are a good value for the knives and it will give me the opportunity to start adding different things like liners. Its about a $25.00 increase. I hope this will not deter anyone from purchasing my knives. I will always make value knives that most people can afford. That has always been my goal.

On a lighter note, I am in the process of getting the patches and tshirts rolling. Im trying to find a supplier and with the help of a buddy, should have some info soon. I want to try and get some items by Christmas. Would hats interest anyone? I am a hat wearer when Im not working so it would be of interest to me. In fact, I think Im going to start a collection of merchandise from different makers. I figure I can come up with enough stuff to wear that I won't get any clothing items from the family for presents!

Chris, like you said, your knives will still be a good value and would not deter me from buying from you. Hell, you can sign me up right now for some patches....and a WSS Necker while your at it. :)

Ill look into getting some hats too. Cool thing about them is you only have to order one size unlike Tshirts. I thought I would be safe with large XL and XXL but it seems bigger sizes might be in order. We have some big guys on this forum! Yeah, I started figuring out what it costs to make a knife and was shocked! Its the little things that add up. Steel is cheap, pins are cheap but you start figuring in 10-40 for wood a set, 20 on up for sheaths, at least 15 for abrasives, 5 for shipping and it adds up. That doesnt even include electric, propane, epoxy, etc, and that doesnt even include your time.

Ha! I scoff at XL and XXL shirts!:D (I'm a size 3XL tall, or 4XL depending on shirt brand). But shirts in "normal" sizes and hats are always nice to get for family and freinds.

Yeah it all adds up. A lot goes into making a quality handmade knife. I realized that when I first starting researching knifemaking when I was 14 yrs old, it's not as simple as some might think.

Oh, I will be making a batch of neckers soon. I gotta make a pattern when I get it back from my sheath maker! Ive decided to give the challenge knife to him for helping me out with the sheath. I respect his opinions on knives and he really seems to like it.

Well, Bill said you would have to increse your prices sooner or later. Lol. :D Chris, your knives are still a great value.
I don't see your orders slowing down over a small price increse. 2XL in t-shirts for me, might be interested
in a hat. A patch or 2 for sure.

Count me in on the patches, collect them when I can find them, shirts I get now come with tent stakes & guy wires & has " sleeps 4-6 " printed on the label . . . .
6'3", 315-320 lbs., I too laugh at XL & XXL.
Hats, ha, "one size fits all" . . . yeah, they do if I want to look like I am wearing a beanie with a bill attached to it . . . .
I'll definitely stick with the patches & let the other "normal" members have the hats. And on the knife increase, Dad always said if you buy the best the first time, you don't have to buy it again . . . . .
Buddy, 'bout time you gave yourself a raise and started making at least $4.00/hour . . . . . . :D
Be safe.

Yeah it was about time with the raise, Chris!
If you don't start making some money on knifemaking, you might be forced to cut back on this and do other stuff for a living, and we would hate to see that
I'm definitely in for a few patches :))

Congrats on the raise Chris,'bout time that slave driving boss gave you one.;)

I'll take a hat,patch & possibly a shirt if it has a pocket.

Your avatar colors would be good too.

I would be interested in a hat. Just a XL guy size here. Congrats on giving yourself a raise.

I'm a little guy - XX works for me.
patches are good things.
ball caps are something I don't wear, but a decent boonie with 3" brim wouldn't be a bad thing.

give me a holler if your t-shirt guy falls through - there's one here in town I've worked with in the past who is reasonable and reliable.

I will probably start with patches since they are cheaper. Everyone seems to like them and there are no sized involved.

I am also going to start offering liners on my knives with the price increase. I will be doing 1/8" micarta or g10 liners, I don't really like the vulcanized spacer stuff. I ordered Black, Orange, Yellow, Blue, and tan. Will probably pick up some colored micarta pinstock as well. To me, nothing looks better than a light colored wood with orange liners!
