One knife I found today. A 2006 Buck 384 Brian Yellowhorse Native steel folder. 62 of 100

There is another signature but I can't make it out. If anyone knows please share. I'm not sure of the scale materials either. Beautiful knife.

Since "VorpalRain" is no longer with us to say it.....
Too much effort on a cheap knife....
And as someone who collects ChinaBuck slippies ... I don't get it.
I like the workmanship but it's wasted on the canvas.

Found some info.

What does Vorpal have to do with anything.? Quoting that hasbeen is cheaper than a Chinese 384. In fact this Chinese custom by Brian and David is classier.

I hear you Roger and often feel the same way. However, that model is not currently available except in the overseas version. I hope Mak got it for a good price, it is very cool.

is this knife unsharpened? Some pics make it look like it was not sharpened.

Thanks Haebbie, I now do see something like an edge. I guess the picture angles are throwing me off.

I myself agree.
I also wouldn't collect knives not commissioned by Buck. But that's just my opinion. That is what my preference is.
I know there was an instance a few years back where a designer did work on a fake Buck that was known for working with Buck.
It just leaves a bad taste and unfortunately it is getting harder to tell what is real or not.
That being said to each their own and enjoy your knife.

I think it is very cool. As long as you didn’t pay thru the nose for it, it is a great showpiece IMO.

I got a good deal on it. I thought it was very unusual. 384 dolled up. I don't collect the Chinese made knives but this one got my attention. It's beautifully finished. Nice trapper that with the work done by both Yellowhorse makes it unique.

Over the years artists have used a multitude of different material for their 'canvases'...at times just plain junk. If proof is needed just google 'junk art'.

This knife will, most likely, never be used as a knife. It is a stunning work of art and should be considered as such. IMO, it(the canvas) does not cheapen the art work. Preston

Picked up these vintage buffalo teeth. Might pair up with buffalo sheaths.

Mike, when I was a kid and my Mom was dragging me around to all the yard sales and auctions within 100 miles, she always said collect what you like, so I did. Now I'm thinking of selling and I can't decide because I like everything I have...Ha!Ha!

Real nice knife Mike, I would have bought it also...

Someone here was defending and collecting Chinese Buck knives?

Those Buffalo teeth are cool, they'd look good on a sheath. Maybe for a 903 or something like that...:)

Preston, you're absolutely correct, look at your turtles and other things you make, they're cool. Mike makes Great sheaths with a plain piece of leather. It's not the source but what you do with it!!

Don

P.S. Let's not bring up the Mad Hatter verpil anymore, Please...Let sleeping DA's lay...
