There have been a number of permutations of the Primble knives - that is the more modern ones marketed by Bluegrass Cutlery after about 9183 whic is when Belknap Hardware went out of business. Bluegrass Cutlery acquired the trademark.
Bluegrass marketed a few (about 4) patterns in the 1988 time frame - these had carbon blades and black bone handles, resembling the Winchester knives also released by Bluegrass in this time period.
Then in 1995 Bluegrass released a total of 18 patterns, each available in one bone color and one celluloid color. These had polished etched stainless blades. Last I checked Bluegrass web iste, these were all still listed, although as I understand it there were only 200 of each made in 1995 and that was it. They all are stamped "Authorized Reproduction Stainless" on the back of the tang. These are awesome quality knives and are hard to find due to the low production numbers.
There have been other Primbles released by Bluegrass, including some more cheaply made knives (made by Utica). These will have either delrin or smooth redwood handles. Not the high quality of the above knives. Also a few were made by Colonial (also low-end).
I hope this helps even if somewhat confusing.
