Here is my 16 that I changed the handle around on.

I stripped this when I first got it, and decided to alter the handle into this. This was my weekend project.

Finished.

Thanks for looking.

I like what you did there....gives it a nautical look. Makes me think that would work nicely with some seine twine....

The liners are 14 ounce thick leather, then wrapped in jute twine, I'll most likely do more, but am going to look for better quality cordage. It's very lightweight and very grippy. The leather is Barge cemented on, and the twine is saturated in epoxy, I don't think the handle should ever fail, I'm curious to put some good woods time in with it.

That's pretty slick! I'll look forward to reports from the time on the woods.

That looks awesome. Looks like something you'd find a plains tribe using in the 1800's. I really like the old-time-y look.

Nothing primitive there but looks like it'll never be slippery again, looks nice, and I think it's really cool that it made it feel lighter. I never would've thought about that aspect had you not mentioned it

Hey Redmech......

That is a very classy looking job, my friend...... Looks to be functional too....... I have used braided cotton cordage soaked in urethane varnish on a couple of jobs and it worked fine but, they really were for wall hangers not users....... Looking forward to progress reports......

Interesting handle. Thanks for posting the pics of your progress instead of just the finished product. Definitely has a nice distressed look to it now.

nice wrap - I'll look forward to seeing it up in Neb in Nov, if I don't see you before that.
