Hey guys, i've had https://shop.primos.com/pc-453-32-many-beards.aspx this call for years, and i forget if all the reeds should be seperated. They're all stuck together as of now, it's been sitting in storage for a while. I was thinking of cleaning it with mouth wash, but have no idea if the reeds are supposed to be seperate, and if so, how to seperate them.

You've had it for years and it has been in storage for a while? It's $4. Buy a new one.

The reeds should separate, and not stick together, but you may not be able to readily separate them by hand.

Some people store their calls in mouth wash- to prevent bacterial growth- or to propogate growth of mouthwash-insensitive bacteria. The calls will degrade over time, but they are cheap and rather disposable anyway. I buy new ones every season...

I just found it and since we have turkey in the area lately, decided to break it out. I want to buy a different call, but didn't know if i could get this one to work.

Pop it in and see how it does. If all of the reeds are stuck together you basically have a single reed call. It may be a bit harder to get right, but you may be surprised. If not, there's a Dick"s in Westfield Mall.

After every season(spring and fall) I soak my mouth calls in mouthwash overnite, Then I rinse, put them in a ziploc bag and stick them in the freezer. They last for years this way. Put small flat toothpicks between the reeds to keep them from sticking together.
