Prince Albert Tin Offer - Imperial Knife

Some time back I aked the question concerning the PA third tin and was told it had an offer for an Imperial knive on the back. I found one recently and should have it in a few days to complete my collection (hopefully??). My question to all (especially to Michael and Larry) is which Imperial knife is offered. Not sure if the order form will be in the tin so was hoping to find the imperial knife on E-bay to go with the others in the series. Any help will be most appreciated . CES

A very good question to which I don't have an answer. Without the knife being illustrated on the tin or the liner paper, it may well have been up to IKAC to decide which knives to send for fulfillment. I don't have the associated liner myself, but would like to see an example if someone comes across one. The Imperial Prince Albert knife is one of the few remaining mysteries of this famous offer. And we would all appreciate a good picture of the tin example you found. Congrats!

Michael,

Thanks for the response. I will scan the tin when I get it and try to post (if I can learn how). If not, I will e-mail you a copy as well as Larry that he can put on the wed site with the others so others can see. FYI the tin came from a dealer in Canada. The Imperial knife was offered for a $1.00 where the Old Timers are for $2.oo as you know. Sure hope there is a form in the tin - Ha! CES

This is the best image of that tin I have so far, and as I said, no copy of the liner.

I have one like Codger's except it doesn't have the "Special Offer" painted on the front. But the back of the can is the same. Got it on ebay some years ago. I didn't even know about the larger size tin. Thats a real prize!

Saddlebum, any chance you are willing to sell that Prince Albert Tin you posted here? Or you Codger_64.

Sorry. Finding one in good condition is pretty tuff. Even a plain PA can. I used to collect tobacco tins and I hardly ever saw any PA cans in collector grade. Mine has one real small dent, no rust and no missing paint. The liner paper is gone though. This is one of those things you didn't think anything about at the time but wish you had now. I used to roll my own when I was 18-19 years old and I have thrown more than a few of these cans away when they were empty.....WHO KNEW?

I removed your link to ebay as linking to live auctions isn't allowed.

Thanks
