I am thinking to order the Princeton Tec Impact (275 lux at 2 feet, 4 AA alkaline, burn time 150+ hours, ultra bright LED (3 LEDs?), range 50 yards.
Any experience with Impacts?
How would you compare Impacts with the Attitude?
Does Impact has also 3 LEDs as Attitude?

Thanks,

Franco

P. S. German TOOLSHOP advertize both Princetons as waterproof (300 meters). At
the Princeton-web site couldn't find that. ???

I have both the Impact and the Attitude. The Impact has only one led. It has a special bubble type lens that extends the range to 50 yards. The beam is very tightly focused unlike other leds that desperse the light outward. The beam probably measures about 2' in diameter at 10' and gets bigger as range extends. The Impact is tougher than the Attitude, but the Attitude is smaller. The Attitude does not shine as far, but it does illuminate the area-unlike the tightly focused beam of the Impact. I use the Attitude a lot more, carry it daily, and find it more useful for working. If I need to spot something at a distance, then I use my Surefire:cool: . I do like the Impact and will not get rid of it. I got my wife an Attitude and she loves it. My dad now wants an Attitude for work. I know that they are both waterproof, just can't remember to what depth. Don't know what you are looking for but you may also want to look at the Princeton Tec Aurora headlamp. It is a little brighter that the Attitude. Hope that helps.:D

Oh yea,
I do have one problem with my blue Attitude. That blue light that shines back at me from behind the bezel. My wifes red Attitude does not bother me as much. The Impact is made out of thicker material so the light doesn't come through.

Hi, Logan1, thank you very much for very useful advices.
I need the Impact and/or Attitude for medium hiking, and wilderness (not jungle, mostly woods, forest). Also, for normal urban environment. What would you suggest : an Imapact or an Attitude?
You mention your Surefire - which one?
Could you compare, say, the Impact with the Mini Maglite (2 AA), concerning especially the beam and the range?
Regards,

Franco

I have a surefire 6P and my wife has an E2e. I really like them when you have to light up an area or spotlight something at a distance. They are are nice to have when I hear a noise outside at night.

I would have to say that the Impact has a better beam and farther range than a Mini Maglight. Although it has been awhile since I have used a Mini Maglight. If I had to choose between an Impact and Mini Maglight, I would definately pick the Impact.

The Impact has a tighter beam and has a farther range. The Attitude illuminates an area more. If I had to spot something or see a distance, I would chose the Impact. If I need to work on something at night, I want the Attitude. The Impact is tougher, but the Attitude is smaller. Don't know which one I would pick for your situation, but that is what I use each one for.

This is a good site with info on these two lights and many more. http://ledmuseum.home.att.net/ledleft.htm
I hope this helps you out.

The Princeton Tec Impact uses a single LED and special optics to project a beam "over 50 yards." Out of all the LED lights that PocketLights.com carries, the Impact projects the farthest beam of light. As Logan1 mentioned, the Attitude is much smaller. The main benefit of using the Attitude and Impact instead of a Surefire light is that the Impact and Attitude have a longer battery life due to the use of LED technology.
