Just got a new Princeton Tec SURGE in from Bright Guy and I'm really happy with it. Size is a little smaller than a 2 D flashlight, but the 8 AA batteries really give it some punch. This is a Bright light, and the beam goes out further than anything else in my (admittedly limited) array. It may not replace a Surefire (on my Wish List) but for $25...it suits me fine. Now, I'm shopping for a Rayovac fast charger and 8 rechargable NiMH AA batteries, which should keep the operating cost down to a minimum for the next 2 years.
I really like Princeton Tec products, carry a BLAST for my EDC and use a RAGE and an ATTITUDE LED camping. This new SURGE will go on the nightstand, beside the old Ruger Speed Six.
