Pro-Grip and Rescue, how good are they?

my local sporting goods store has one of each in the "pre-owned" cabinet, they both look quite intriguing and the price is right (if you haven't figured it out, i'm a stingy bugger ;) ), both are about 85% of new, slightly cosmetically rough, but still have that famous "scary sharp" Spyderco edge

i think i'm turning into a collector of the "discontinued" Spydies, picked up a Dyad Jr last night and i *love* it, it's definitely going to be part of my *permanent* EDC, Sal, you *really* need to bring the Dyad Jr (or something similar) back, it's the *perfect* pocketknife, on a scale of 1-10, it's an 11, and i *DON'T* hand out high scores very freely.....

the Pro-Grip has a nice, weighty feel to it, and a nice meaty blade, but i'm not a fan of the integrated plastic clip, it's VG-10 Seki steel

the Rescue is an older model with G-10 steel, in decent shape, but i'm not sure if i'd need a full-length serrated blade, i'm more of a fan of the hybrid or plain edge blade, leaning more to the plain edge side of things

so, for a newbie Spyderco fanatic like myself, how do these two blades stack up?

and yes, i *am* planning on getting a new Spydie soon, i just like keeping an eye out for that unique, "rare" Spydie blade, just so happens that most of the unique ones that appeal to me are pre-owned Spydies....

I recently got a rescue with the plain edge and I love it. I'm not a big fan of the serrated ones, but I'd deffinately get one if the price were right.

The Pro Grip is one of the great little folders out there. If you can still find them and don't have one get one. They don't make them any longer. There are still some out there right now but it won't always be that way.

I have a blue rescue on the way that should arrive tomorrow. My first knife of 06. They are supposed to be one of the best looking handles on the market as far as the color.

My blue handled 93mm Rescue is a great knife so far. Been using it a lot at work on boxes and at home out in the yard on odds & ends.

My pro-grip is always with me, essential EDC. So much so I bought one on BF from a member and am looking for more. I love the size, weight and blade. Most of all I love the FRN clip. I have had most metal clips either pull out of the handle or shred clothes. So sad that spyderco doesn't offer the pro-grip and FRN clips anymore :(

I have recently purchased an Assist II with the carbide tip and love the feel of the new grip. I don't know if that is the same as on the rescue or not but I really like it. The blade is razor sharp and has the 3/4 serrated and 1/4 plain and cuts plastic and other materials like they were butter. I like this knife.
