I just bought a FRN Pro Grip on eBay. I paid $48 which is $3 more than www.1sks.com has it but I had some money in my Paypal account. I got interested in this model because I like the plastic clips and this model still has one. I carry a FRN Endura at work as my EDC and I used to carry a FRN Delica at home. I gave my Delica away so I needed a replacement. The kraton pad under the clip makes this knife hold tight to thin clothes. I usually walk around at home in a tee shirt and sport shorts. This knife works great! The blade is stout like a mini Wegner. The tip is not thin like Delica. The only bad thing I can say is that the edges on the hole are a little sharp. I got the combo edge and the steel is AUS-8 which is a favorite of mine. Oh yeah, the blade came wicked sharp. Another great Spydie. If you were like me you probably have not given this model much thought but it is worth another look.

The Pro-grip is a very nice knife. I'm a big fan of AUS 8. Have it on an old 50/50 Endura and its still performing and cutting as if it were a newer knife with a 'supersteel'.

One thing I actually don't like about it though is that Kraton patchunder the clip. I find it a little too 'grippy' on my pockets.

The holes were initally slightly bevelled but it was noticed that bevelling was not improving the grip, on the contrary. So they keep the holes just the way they are. If it really bothers you, it's quite easy to chamfer the hole yourself. Or you could ask Ron, he does all sort of custom things to spidies :)

The Pro-Grip is one great model that like you said, is very underestimated. The blade has a great thumb perch and lots of belly. The handle which is one of the more comfy FRN handles IMO rides just right on my right front pocket. Some don't like the kraton patch under the clip, but I find that it really works wonders when clipped to thin materials such as my scrubs or dress pants. Nice knife!
Enjoy,
Matt
