Pro Rate Question

I just bought (on 23 May 2014) a Basic Membership when I meant to get a Gold Membership.

I read about how to upgrade.

My question: If I get a Gold Membership, will the Gold Membership be discounted (pro rated)? Or will I receive a refund for the Basic Membership and how much will it be?

Whatever time you have left on your current membership will be added to your new membership to extend the time.

For example a basic membership is $10 a year a gold membership is 25. If you just purchased a basic membership and then decided upgrade to Gold you would extend your gold membership by four months.
