I stop in here every once in a while. I hardly ever see anything written about the Professional Soldier knife. I have been EDC'n mine for about three years. It has done everything from open boxes to skinning whitetail deer exceptionally well for a general use knife. I only ever had one complaint. That complaint has nothing to do with the knife, but rather the handle. I have looked for years for some aftermarket scales for this beut and have come up with nuttin. Even tried to get some folks here in the forums to make em' for me with no luck. Other than that, the Pro Soldier has been my all time favorite fixed EDC knife. I've tried to carry others, but keep coming back to this one. My knife shows very little wear for having seen so much use over the years. A very slight smoothing or fading of the coating, but very light wear.

I am interested in hearing from other Professional Soldier owners in regards to their use of the knife and how they rate theirs. I absolutely love mine.

Dammit! Now I have been led to chrisreeve.com to look at another knife I hadn't heard of and now I'm OCDing over another knife...

I had the Pro Soldier for a short period of time. I never used it so I sold it. I will likely end up with another someday and actually use it!

Have you thought about a 550 cord wrap?

Oh yeah, I actually wrap the handle with military grade accessory cord which is smaller than original paracord. Been carrying it that way since the beginning. Seriously, with a trek-lok this thing disappears on the belt. One of the reasons I carry it so much. I would like to get an inside the waistband loop to try and carry it that way too sometime.

I see the pro soldier as a seriously underrated Ed 'able fixed blade.

Get one and use her. You won't be disappointed. It took me a little while to actually use mine at first. But once I committed to her, she has been a loyal companion ever since. Never let me down.

It's a great little knife but I just can't get use skeletonised knives/handles, they carry well and look cool but are not great users, IMO. I did wrap the handle of mine in a couple of different styles but only for about 10 minutes as I found it was even less comfortable. I did toy with the idea of micarta scales for it but a friend offered to take the knife off my hands in a trade so I sent it to a better home. :)

my favourite light fixed blade
best neck/skeleton knife ever tried or handled

mine has basic 550 wrapping (end of handle) and still feels fine

After much debate and review, I picked one up today. No regrets - sorry I waited so long.

Hopefully you'll love it as much as I do. I'm really impressed how its "weathered" three years of almost daily use. I've had more expensive knives that looked allot worse after only being used several times! I'll try and post some pics tonight of it tonight. The only mods were a little cord wrap on the top rear of the handle and I shortened the sheath a little for the cord wrap to clear the kydex when in the sheath.
