I just got a new Malibu, and can't get it centered no matter which method I've tried. Has anyone else had this issue, and how did you fix it ?

The tolerances are so tight on the scales, with no back spacer or stand-offs....that shifting the scales seems like an impossible task. Adjusting the pivot hasn't solved it, it ends up too tight for deployment.

I've had reasonable success with most folders simply by doing the following....

Loosen the pivot almost to the point of disassembly. Then, with the blade closed - insert shims of your choice on BOTH sides (washers, coins, wooden matchsticks, toothpicks, whatever fits - but coins/washers may scratch your blade) between the blade and the handles/scales to make the blade centered. Once centered and secured firmly with the shims on both sides, re-tighten the pivot to your preferred tension, or slightly tighter.

Remove the shims and chances are your blade will be centered - or reasonably so.

I'll try it, already tried 3 other ways.
