I just bought my first Pro-Tech. A CQC7 auto knife.
I have a Sharpmaker with a degree assist.
What is the best degree for sharpening the knife ?

154CM is probably right at the limit of steels that the Sharpmaker can do with just the ceramic rods. Between the two "settings" on the Sharpmaker, 20 degrees per side is going to be closer to the factory grind, but is unlikely to be a perfect match. In a lot of cases, the Sharpmaker ends up creating a microbevel instead of sharpening the existing edge bevels.

Take a sharpie marker and color the edge. Then try it on the Sharpmaker and see which setting best removes the sharpie line.

Is your knife a chisel grind or a v-grind? If it's a chisel grind, I'd bet something on the order of 40 degrees on the bevel side will be close to the original edge. If it's a v-grind, then likely 20 degrees per side (40 degrees inclusive).

Note that these are approximate, and the actual sharpening was likely done by hand at whatever angle the sharpener decided to do that day. Your best bet is to use a sharpie on the edge and try to cleanly remove it with sharpening passes until you find the right angle.
