Probably should've asked this earlier than the day before I left for NJ

But is a small Ritter Grip okay for carry up there? I will also have a walking staff for hiking in the Barrens, a full size Ritter Grip, my Bog Dog and a Leatherman Wave. Not all on me at the same time:D , but I will have the others in my truck. I am a good driver and am always well behaved, so no reason to get pulled over or stopped. I will be in a resort town too, always keep my nose clean. Should I carry a slippie just in case? I leave tomorrow, so I hope I get to read the replies when I get home tomorrow night.

Don't worry about it. All the stuff you're carrying shouldn't give you any problems unless you're causing trouble ;).

The law in NJ with knives is basically up to the individual police officer . Should you be pulled over or stopped for your knives, explain to the officer why you have them (hiking in the Barrens). Prove that you have a legitimate reason for carrying the tools, and off you go to enjoy the rest of your day.

There aren't any specific limits on blade length except for the underaged.

Hope this helps and have fun.

PS - If you really want to be safe, carry that slippie when you're in town, and save the Grippies for when you're actually hiking.
