Probably the most extensive knife mod I've done

The knife started as an Emerson Micro Commander. I got it on a whim a while ago because I had one before and liked it but this one never really clicked with me so I decided to make it a little "different". For those that aren't already familiar with the Micro Commander, Here's a borrowed pic of a stock one.

Here's mine. Nothing too out of the ordinary, right?

Bye-bye recurve!

Comparison with meh 0801

I've still got cleaning up to do (mostly with the grinds) and would like to get some different scales made for it but that won't happen for awhile.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys! I'm really happy with how this one turned out.

Wow man that looks great, what process did you use? All by hand? Again that really looks good!

Just about everything was done by me with my belt grinder, a lot of thought, and patience. Thanks again:)

Nice work,me thinks if you can do a regrind that nice you should be able to tackle a rescaling easy enough also.

Thanks gents. I was planning on removing more belly than what you see. If you look at the stock photo, you can see how the flats (area where the logo would be printed on) dips down with the recurve/follow the grind down which made that part a bear to regrind compared to the other sections due to the thickness. This was my first time de-curving a knife so I just left the little extra belly just to be safe. I hope that sort of makes sense.

Thanks man. Your post actually pushed me to jump into making some scales. I got the lock side drilled and countersunk/bored so far and everything fits tight and snug. Should add a little extra zazz to the MC.

Next thing you know, you'll be making knives lol.

Really nice work. I like everything you did, and I'd guess it's a much nicer cutter now.

I like that! I think that 'wave' is retarded anyway. Post a pic of your new scales when you get em mounted up.

Sick Regrind Will!! To me (I am not fond of re-curves) it looks better than the original & should make a very nice slicer.
