Really thx you guys.

I disassembled and then reassembled it, and i do follow the exact steps in the sticky. And the place of the lock up has been improved a little. Actually I did follow these steps before this time, as i can see the differences between those are that i flick the blade open much more gentle.

i didn't use the trick that you push the handle while tightening the screws, because i can make peace with the place right now. I just wonder that the lock up will go deeper after times. or while accidentally flick it quite hard. IT WILL BE SAFE RIGHT?

Recently i got a nica large sebenza. It was in a pretty good shape. The lock up was just in the middle. Then i got curious, and i disassembled it. And when i put it together, i find out the lock up becomes quite late,nearly 90%.

It is something wrong i did? is it safe for me to use?

Need help, guys.

The Chris Reeve forum would probably have your answers. Sebenzas are nice knives, good chance you did something.
 
Could be two things. Its common that users will modify the lock up by sliding the lock side upward before tightening the screws. This can make it 20-30% earlier although not a great idea. If this was the case it may actually rest near 90. Which is a good solid lock up any way. I'd try one more time following the directions in the sticky on this forum in case you made a slight error. Worst case you ignore it or purchase a stop pin sleeve if they still offer it for older models.

I have had this happen before. Sometimes when you tighten the backspacer screws tighter, or in a different order. Like backspacers, then stop pin screws, then pivot. Whatever order, sometimes I will get two different results. Very odd, but it has happened. You might want to send it into CRK
 
A late lock-up is safer and I think the whole "wear" issue has been exaggerated. If it's at 90% and stays there (which it should) then that's perfect!
 
one more thing to try-spin the stop pin and see if that changes anything. It certainly is not a disaster at 90%, but something has changed.
 
I would disassemble it and try again.

I have put this super simple knife back together without everything being aligned perfectly and ended up with strange blade centering or lock-up. (I fix it right away and smack myself in the head)

The "trick" where you decrease the lock bar travel by putting opposing force on each scale while tightening the screws shouldn't give you that much of a difference in lock-up....

Take it apart....take your time....get it all together right, and report back.

I tried it again. it did has a small improvement.

But the trick doesn't seem work. I follow the guide on youtube, after adjusting, when i flicked it once, the lock up went back.
 
Looks great to me. I love then pics. Use it good and hard. Don't be afraid of anything. No need to baby it. CRK will take care of it of anything happens. Sometimes they even tweak the bushing , washers or pin sleeve to adjust things. If that day ever even comes. I know a few guys with same lock up like that for a decade now!
 
You might contact the seller and see what they have to say.
Other than that it looks fine and should preform fine where it is
 
It's a 17 year old knife, probably lost some tension, but that lock up is fine.

I write to chris reeve company to ask about this problem.

They told me that " Our folders are designed to have later lock ups of at least 55%. As long as the lock arm is not touching the front scale, it will be within our tolerances. "

So i guess i can put an end to this question, and feel relieved.
 
Lockup is one thing, the other is the lock stick. Might I suggest letting the expert i.e.. CRK set it all good and proper.
