Problem figured out...move along please :D

Interestingly enough, I was curious with my new Insingo..So I pulled the screw and tried to remove the clip. While it wasn't glued in any way (threads are still good as well), it was very, very tight. Alot more of a press fit than I would have ever imagined necessary.

I don't think your clip is glued into place, but a rather tight press fit into the pocket. If it were me and I was worried about it, I would do nothing further without contacting CRK. This includes any attempts on removing the clip.

Ya know, I have wondered this myself.

I have noticed this is most of my Sebs as well. Even some of the smalls that I got rid of. I actually took the screw completely out of two of my Sebs, and the threads were completely blunted, yet it still screwed back in and locked tight. On one of the two, the screw was easily screwed back in, but it was immobile after that. The screw would NOT move either right or left.

So, I just quit messing with the clip screws altogether hoping that I never have to take one off.

Oh, and sorry this happened to your knife Jon. Always frustrating when crap like this occurs.

I think this is the case.I to have always had trouble re-moving my clips from my newer Sebs.I think its just a really tight precise fit.
I contacted my friend and told him this was most likely the case.

Does the screw look like this?

I can't comment, as I never took it out while it was in my possession.

Thats definitely a "wild" looking screw.

Whats the story on it.

It's the clip screw from my new Insingo dated 1/2/2012. I am only guessing, but it appears to be a clever trick at retention without using loc-tite. The threads in the handle are fine..If you are very careful, it goes back together without an issue at all. I do want to stress..I don't have a problem with my Insingo..While I think the clip is a bit too tight in the pocket, I actually think the deformed threads do a great job at retaining the clip. I have no worries about the screw backing out and losing my newest investment.
I do have to throw this out here..The threads in the Ti scale shouldn't be affected by the screw. Titanium is very resilient...Imagine the threads doing something very similar to the clip and springing back to their former shape. In theory, this should work as long as the clip isn't removed and replaced in excess.

Wouldn't exactly call this a recent design improvement.

The clip screws look this "wild" since ages. Just as an example, my small Regular (C04) clip screw looks just like that. More recent ones as well. Would like to know what's the story on the irregular threading.

The clip is a very tight press fit. Takes serious effort to remove it. There shouldn't be any Loctite involved.

I have also experienced an extremely tight fit of my pocket clip on my Startac. I'm usually able to stick the hex tool under the clip and pry it out no prob.
And as for the screws on some knives it screws in and out easily while on others it feels the threads are mismatched or something.
