Problem Knife

Hi, how is everyone? I have a question about a knife that I just bought. I bought a CRKT Hissatsu Folder about a week ago. But I keep accidentally cutting myself on the blade, while it is closed. The tip of the blade is slightly exposed, and I have cut my finger twice already. Does anyone else have this problem with their Hissatsu Folder, or did I get one with a defect? Should I get a new one, or a refund? Thanks for any help.

I don't own one, but I've been studying the online photos like this one:

I don't see how the blade could be exposed unless it was a defective knife. Like the very tip of the blade is protruding from the butt of the closed knife? If so, you should sent it back for a replacement.

Good Luck

Welcome to BladeForums!

I agree with Bob. The point should not be exposed.
I would contact CRK&T and see what they say about it. Sounds defective to me.

I own one and that should not be happening whatsoever. They are safe and easy/comfortable to carry in their intended state.

Send it in or ask for a new one.

The tip of the blade is slightly exposed, and I have cut my finger twice already.

It is obviously defective, so the decision is return to the seller, send in for warranty repair, or fix yourself.

I'd try returning/exchanging with the seller first, since it will probably be quickest.

Next up would be warranty repair - however, if shipping costs more than a small percentage of the price I paid, I wouldn't take this route and instead I'd fix it myself.

Where does the blade stick out? The end of the knife, i.e. blade too long, or sticking out the side of the handle, i.e. probably the blade stop a bit too big. Either can be fixed reasonably easily.

The point is exposed a little bit, i too have cut my self with the tip extended out of the handle.

I own one. The tip should be deep enough within the handle when completely closed that accidentally cutting yourself with it is impossible

is it possible that blade pivot is too loose and just needs tension adjusted to keep it from coming open??

It's a little hard to describe, the blade isn't sticking out the end. It just isn't covered on the end of the knife. I will try and exchange it, since I apparently got one with a defect. When I get a chance, I might post a photo of it. To show what I was talking about. Thanks for the replies.
