Keith sent this pix and told me this is how they light stubborn charcoal down in SE MO.

Well, you can do it that way, I guess.

Most physicists don't like that method because it takes too long to get the charcoal to light.

LOX is quicker.

See the website at http://ghg.ecn.purdue.edu/~ghg/

It does tend to use up grills though.

I could've used one of those on Thansgiving. Spent most of the evening hacking at the soggy firewood with an AK; after numerous attempts we still could not convince anything thicker than my wrist to burn well. There were, however, two small consolations:

1) one of my friends now wants to buy an AK for field work, and
2) I think I now know what they make asbestos out of. :p

I find the guy with the fire extinguisher rather amusing.

Is the flamethrower pizeoelectric start?

When you play with fire you could get burnt;). When you play with high pressure fire you can disintegrate, it dosen't hurt to have someone watch your back and be prepared.
We are using a M9 government model that we bought a couple of years ago, it sure livens things up at the shooting range:D .
It kind of puts a new meaning to, don't piss into the wind  ;)

Yeah, that looks like the ultimate expression of the phrase "Playing with fire" :D

The coals would probably light themselves in terror if they see ya approaching with one of these babies...

As nasty as he is I think we are all going to miss the Caveman while he's enjoying his one month vacation. Must be nice!

Funny, he didn't mention where he was going....I've got to get that new floodlight hooked up....
