problem removing pivot from kershaw shallot

hey guys. i got a kershaw shallot thats my edc right now, i really like it but hate the bead blasted blade so i have decided to sand it off.

so i started taking the knife apart and everything was going smoothly until i got to the pivot. I went to loosen it and just kept spinning, i guess the previous owner poured some loctite or glue in there.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and knew what to do about it, i really want to get this knife apart.

Any info is greatly appreciated~thanks.

Apply some lateral pressure to the (opened) blade while you loosen the pivot screw.

Thanks turbo. Worked like a charm. Got it all sanded and it has a nice beater look to it.
