hey guys, wanted to see if anyone has had this problem or has any ideas. when i purchased my belts, i got a lot of the 3m trizact belts because i read that they were good and people liked them. i got 2 of the aluminum oxide belts from trugrit. What i have noticed is that the trizact belts seem to curve inward toward the middle - in other words, only the outside edge of the trizact belts come into contact with my blades unless i push into it somewhat. i don't have this problem with the alum oxide belts. it seems to mess blades up sometimes, causing an indentation on them if i am not careful. has anyone else had this problem? i am considering going only with the alum ox from now on... thanks.

Do you have the Gator versions (with greenish abrasive) or the black Trizact? It seems the green Gators are slightly concave. The Black pyramidal belts are ok.

The "Gator" Trizact is NOT the same as the ones I use, I learned that a while back. I'm not sure precisely which kind of Trizact mine are, they're made by Doug Reising, from 3M material.

Here are the 2 I am talking about. The first is the black Triz that works good the second is the "Gator" that kinda is concave but I just use for hoggin metal off for reprofiling and such:

Hmmm. I thought I had a problem with my platen, which is ceramic.
Nice to know I'm not the only one with a problem with the green
Trizact belts. They also groove like crazy.

Yeah! Thanks guys! I was talking about the green ones... Thats what I have that i have a problem with. Guess I'll have to order some of the black ones... You got a link?

Not sure where NeverDull gets his, I purchase mine from Doug via Email. You can contact him at dougrising@yahoo.com He asks on the order of $7/belt, as I recall, and can supply down to the A3 belts. The price initially made me choke a bit, but when this set wears out I'm going to be calling him up again. You just can't beat the performance, and Doug's a stand-up guy.
