Recently bought a Sable for camp / hiking use.

The problem is the snap on the belt loop of the sheath. When retrieving the knife, it unsnaps. Much rather have the pancake sheath setup.

Snap version SUCKS! Any ideas to remedy this would be appreciated.

TIA

probably a dumb question, but is it snapped properly? On my shadow IV sheath, there is a little lip on one side of the snap. I think it is there to prevent exactly what you say the problem is.

im with voppa. sounds like it is not properly snapped, or the snap is b/o. it should only snap in one way. if you try and force it the wrong way, it will bend the female part, and will need to be replaced.

i had a mountaineer with the same sheath, and never had that problem.

These are called directional snaps for a reason. You have to snap and then unsnap in a certain direction due to a lip on the female side.

If that is not the problem then you may have a bad snap. I would contact CRK and see what assistance they can offer. I have always heard great things about their customer service.

vop, MM, TN..thanks guys for your reply!

You where right, snap just needed a little adjustment via needle noses. Works like a champ now.

thanks again, gotta love this place

cheers
