Problem with a De-Assisted Blur?

Hey all, finally de-assisted one of my Blurs, and I'm loving it! Makes the knife so much better, in my opinion. Anyways, it seems like when I sit and fondle the knife, the pivot screw seems to loosen and tighten itself. For example, I'll tighten/loosen the screw to my liking then after a few minutes of flipping it open the blade will be scraping the side of the handle, or it will tighten itself to where it takes quite a bit of force to open. When I put the knife back together after taking the torsion bar out, I didn't use any Lock-Tite on the pivot screw, could this be the problem? I really don't want to have to keep adjusting the screw, or put the torsion bar back in! Thanks!

Someone a few weeks ago suggested teflon tape. I had some sitting on my counter from a plumbing project and tried it. It seems to hold as well as Loc-Tite but can be loosened and removed with a lot less trouble. I wrapped the threads with just enough to cover them.

It's funny I just took out my Blur today for carry and I've been having the same problem. I think I'll have to buy some blue loctite soon.

I have heard that before. I need to give it a go and see how well it holds up!

I have plumber's tape on about 4 of my folders including my de-assisted Blur, all pivot screws now stay put. Use a decent length of tape.

That would be the blue LocTite 242, that's the removable one the other one is permanent and the only way to remove it is with heat, I've used a soldering iron to remove the permanent type.

What do you guys do when de-assisted Blur rubs the liner? I've tried loosening the scale screws and fiddling with it, but the blade still rubs the liner/insert pretty good.

I recently picked up a Blur on the exchange and it was off center all but rubbing. I was able to center the blade by:

1) Loosening all screws including pivot
2) While holding knife vertically with a finger on either end (pivot end/non pivot end) on either scale. Looking at the knife, I would have the pointer or middle finger on the top pivot end, right side scale; thumb on opposing end, left side. See pic below
3) Apply pressure until blade is in desired location or a little further even
4) Tighten quickly and pray. I like to tighten all a half way then finish. If in right position, I back off the pivot until I find the sweet spot

After a few tries it worked for me on my 0350. It also worked for me regular assisted Blur. I won't be de-assisting this one but it just gives me a reason to pick up another Blur :)
