Problem with a Randall model 5

I recently aquired a 7 years old Randall N 5 (7" blade)
and I have a little problem with it: the butt cap feels
slightly loose. My question is the following: to remedy
to this can I simply screw the end bolt with an adequate
key, or is the problem more complicated ? What I don't
know is if the butt cap is pasted to the tang or if it
is simply hold mechanically by the bolt.
This is my first randall knive and I'm otherwise very
pleased by it's obvious qualities.
I thank you in advance for your answer.
Best regards,
François Duhem.

I would e-mail Randall at; randallknives.com and explain the problem to them. They are pretty good, about fixing these things, and may just charge you shipping. Better to have them fix it because if you try to fix it and mess up the finish,, there goes its collectors value. No slam on your ability to fix it , but why take a chance.
