I have had my Marbles knife for over a year now, and so far I have nothing but good things to say about it. Until today I was doing my usual Saturday morning cleaning of my knives. When I picked up the Marbles knife the handle was loose, moving from side to side. I think I have heard about this problem before and I was just wondering if anybody out there knew what to do? It has a buffalo horn handle and a stag butcap. I hope somebody can help because I'm going upstate tonight and I was counting on my favorite knife to be there.
THANK YOU!!!

Only sure fix is to send it back to Marble.

Hello,

Sounds like the handle material lost a bit of size possibly,,,not uncommon using Fresh uncured Horn an Antler material, Shrinkage might be the cause of it loosening up,

Also somtimes if the material gets wet and Dries out that can also be a problem.

But as above was mentioned i would send it back, Have you tried Tightening the pommel, to take up the looseness? , but its probably best to send it back for repairs.

Regards, Allen Blade

I had that exact problem, with the same kind of knife. I'd bought a buffalo horn Marble Woodcraft from AG Russell, and it came that way, new in the box. The horn would twist very slightly, and creak in my hand, if any lateral pressure was exerted.

I sent the knife back to AG Russell, and got a refund.

Didn't stop me from buying a Marble Plainsman, with wood handle, which is nice and tight and super-sharp.
