i just got in the mail my brand new lady hawk satin silver knive ...
when i opened the box i took the knive and tested it ...
the problem is that the knive is not sharp at all ... could be ???
new knive stright from "blackhawk industries " and not that sharp ????
anyone ??? .... i need some answers ...

My Hornet wasn't blazing sharp OTB either. 154cm is easy enough to bring out an edge on. Just touch it up.

how's the edge look? Can you see "reflections" in the edge? (flat spots)

How would you rate your sharpening skills? (1-10)

no flat spots ... looks like factory new ...
my sharpening skills are good .. i would say 7-8 ....
do you think i just sharpen it and thats it ? ...
i never had problems before with mod ...

If your sharpening is above par, then just do it and don't worry about it. Let MOD know about it, of course, before you buy again.

I've read mixed reviews on their sharpness. Better than some, but not consistent like Spyderco.

I would send it back for sure. The lady h looks to be a difficult blade to sharpen. Tight radius and all. I sent two Tempests back in had them back in just 9 days. Liner lock problem on one and changed the blade out from pse to pe. I think this is something they should know about at least. I rec. both knives back extremely sharp. One of them is my edc. Just fits my hand perfectly. keepem sharp

My feeling is that it happens. As long as you are comfortable with your sharpening skills then go ahead and sharpen it. You will have had to sharpen it eventually anwyay. Why bother with the expense of shipping it back, and dealing without it for any amount of time if you can sharpen it yourself?

I have had it happen to me with a few different knives, some worse than others. On the better ones a few strokes on a fine Spyderco ceramic rod and they were sharp. Others needed more work with diamonds, and then progressing to the Sharpmaker.
