problem with my bk2

I recently received a becker bk2 from amazon it looked fine at first but after holding it for a while I noticed that the scales and the tang aren't flush and it is painful to hold while doing heavy work. Also the entire blade seems to curve to the right a little bit and at the tip it is extremely crooked and the grind is messed up because of it. To top things off the first time I put the knife in its sheath and snapped the nylon strap it completely pulled the strap off the nylon backing. I guess I am wondering if anyone else has these problems on their bk2 or I just got a dud. And another thing is i've done some wood processing and carved a small spoon and now that the rough finish is wearing off I can see that there is a series of small lines in the metal that appear to be there to hold the coating on better. This worries me because on the youtube videos I saw the bk2s didn't seem to have these when completely stripped. and I planned on customizing it. thanks for any help

The lines under the coating are normal, but a bent blade is not. The sheath shouldn't break that easily either, though it is a cheap sheath. You can align the scales better with the tang if you loosen the screws and then tighten them back down with some loctite, but if the blade is truly bent, I would contact Kabar and send it in for a replacement. Honestly, you probably could have it replaced just by saying the grind is too uneven. Kabar really does stand behind their knives.

I have a BK2 from around 2008 and it had the lines when I stripped it. My BK9 and BK7, both about a year old, have the lines too (they might be more noticeable, I'm not sure though). I sanded them off my BK2 without much trouble, moving up through different grits.
