Hey guys,

Just got a new blue Delica and I've got a problem. It REALLY doesn't open very nicely. I've got a couple of other Delicas and this one opens with prob three or four times the force. Not good at all. Is there anything that I can do to make it any better? I've worked it maybe a couple of hundered times and it isn't getting any better. Oh, and I put some Remoil on it and that didn't make very much of a difference either.

Thanks for any help,
Gino

Hi Gino. Welcome to the Spyderco forum. Sorry you are having a problem. I don;t think there is anything you can do...sorry.

We can certainly do something at Spyderco, but you'll have to send it to us. Call Mike at Warrantee & Repair - 800-525-7770

I had a Delica that was like that. Someone on the forum suggested getting toothpaste smeared into the pivot. Once it dries work the blade repeatedly. This acts as an abrasive to work out rough spots of contact between the blade tang and the lockbar. This worked for me but might not for you. Also, I don't know if this solution violates warantee. If you do try it, make sure and blast out all of the toothpaste with a water pick or something else when you're done.

I was toop lazy to send it in but mine worked out for me. If yours isn't getting better then send it in. The people at Spyderco will treat you right.
